About  Me

Bio

My name is Melissa A Robinson.  I am a painter.  More than anything else.  I paint.  I also study all things spiritual and emotional and I live for Nature.  For birds and sky and water and animals.  Especially dogs.

I love all things that grow.

People are probably my biggest challenge; I get easily overwhelmed by people.  So I would ask you to please be patient with me if I flub up communications.

As for the formal stuff, I have studied art at many fine institutions and have a degree in Visual Art and English.  I have been making my odd little images for decades now.  My work can be found in homes and offices in all fifty of the United States and more than thirty countries all around the world.

Artist Statement

Art is how I make sense of the world.  I create drawings and paintings as a way of experiencing life and connecting with others.  Each time I begin a new canvas, my goal is to capture some small measure of truth.  Often I am seeking emotional truth or spiritual truth, but on occasion I have the modest goal of capturing the simple joy of color.  The truth of paint.

I believe that colors and words and shapes and symbols affect us in ways that science cannot yet measure.  I believe that good art works like medicine.  And honest paintings can be cathartic.

I hope my paintings amuse you or soothe you or help you see the beauty in our complicated messy lives.

 Art makes life better.
