This wonderful weathered looking canvas is a sweet, unique image of childhood dreaming. I have just begun to explore childhood memories and images of lasting significance. There are words in this painting that read, "When I was small my dearest friend was a tree. We grew with the flowers and floated with the clouds all summer long."

This tactile piece was created over a long period of time, built up layer by layer. I used acrylic modeling paste to develop the gauged, warn feeling of a painting completed in an old memory and forgotten outdoors. The result is a piece that is both contemporary and historical.
