(Details)
Enough continues my interest in the subtle inclusion of language in art. It has three phrases painted in small letters near the bottom of the image. The words read, "There is no race. There are no prizes. Just standing still is enough." The words and the image are a reminder to me and others that nothing more is required of us other than to sit still and enjoy this blessed world.
Enough is a finger-painting. First, I pushed acrylic modeling paste into the ridges that became a three dimensional drawing. Then, I applied paint directly from the tube to the canvas and mixed it by patting the canvas with my finger-tips. Like playing a drum. Once the painting dried, I used a teeny detail brush to add the words and some key highlights.
