This is from a series of paintings I have been working on that display childhood memories.  I am sure I am not alone in my childhood love of the beach.  I spent most of my summers underwater.  Hiding from the heat in that dark, cool, quiet world of minnows and sand and sunfish and funky seaweed.  This painting continues my interest in the subtle inclusion of language in art.  There are two phrases painted in small letters in two separate place on this painting.  They read, "My parents said I always swam like a fish."  And, "I would have been a good fish."
