Buffalo have long been a personal totem.  They are such beautiful, strong animals.  In many Native American spiritual traditions, buffalo represent self-less giving.  And white buffalo represent endless blessings.  The birth of a white buffalo was said to usher in an era of bountiful goodness, a time of plenty.  This painting has some incredibly vibrant hues; nice clean lines, and rich, tactile textures.  Good Omen is a brightly colored prayer sure to bless any home or work space with hopeful dreams.

I primed this canvas panel with black gesso and then laid down a coat of artist-quality fine ceramic stucco.  The buffalo was scratched into the surface with a knife once the stucco had set.  I then rubbed those vibrant colors in with my fingers and finished the piece by painting that fine black line with a tiny detail brush.
