Isn't this brave, happy Welsh Corgi fun?  I just love this piece.  Her sweater makes the painting.  This image has a bright, open composition and some fine, clear detail work.  And the dog has such a fabulous expression!  This playful image is sure to a bit of whimsical winter magic to any home or work space.

I began by priming a gallery wrapped canvas with black acrylic gesso.  Then I used a teensy detail brush and white paint to sketch in this unique pup.  I used a wide soft brush to lay in the washes that would become the gray winter sky and the softly shaded field of snow.  Once those layers dried, I broke open a new pack of fine detail brushes and spent hours painting the Corgi in her warm winter attire.
