This beautiful original painting is a warm, bright spot of joy sure to touch any home or work space with a lyrical bit of Spring. Just Gotta Sing has deep, luscious hues, wonderful rich textures, and an engaging tree-top composition. I also paid particular attention to line-quality and lighting and I am very pleased with the natural movement in this piece. It is a happy Spring song painted to lift your spirits all year long.

First I primed this "deep-dish" gallery wrapped canvas with black gesso. Then I applied a thin layer of acrylic modeling paste which I scrapped and abraded in order to achieve rough, active textures. Then I laid down layer after layer of color. And I finished by very carefully painting the fluid black lines that move through this piece.
