My Own Home

The words in this piece read, "I found an empty place and... I made my own home."

This fun, colorful abstract is my comment on a lifetime of seeking home. For many of my years I looked for home in a variety jobs and apartments and lovers. It is only in the last few years that I have managed to build my own home in the quiet empty places inside me. What a peaceful comforting sense of security. To know that your home is always with you.

This painting has gorgeous deep color; intriguing lines; complex edges and simple words. It continues my interest in the combination of language and art with a single phrase painted in small camouflaged letters. The words read, "I found an empty place and... I made my own home."

I am hopeful that this unique, vibrant abstract will bring a bit of comfort and imagination to some fellow seeker out there.
