I have an unexplainable attachment to this piece.  There is just something about it.  Maybe it is because I have always liked the stuff that blends in, the stuff that gets lost in the shadows.  And I am rarely draw to the stuff in the spotlight.  Most people do not even seem to notice pigeons.  But I love them.  And I really like the muted palette of this painting.  Along with the rich feather-like textures.  Pigeon continues my interest in the subtle inclusion of language in art.  There is a single phrase painted in small letters that reads, "Robins are overrated."
