This fun colorful piece features surprisingly vivid color; a playful, active composition, and a wonderfully original subject. You do not see racing Penguins in goggles everyday! I always smile when I see Racing. It is a fun lighthearted painting. The black triangle on the left - which we know is a penguin butt - makes me particularly happy. I am hopeful this piece will bring a bit of silly winter fun to your home or office and make you smile, too. Racing is a pure finger-painting. I used my fingers to move paint from my palette to the canvas. Finger-painting is messy and hard to control and when done at this scale, likely to make me go blind, but it is also very freeing. It prevents my control-freak side from taking over. It also provides some neat natural textures. Racing was painted on a rigid canvas panel and the sides have been painted, so it would look lovely displayed unframed on a small decorative easel, or you can choose to easily and affordably frame it in a standard sized frame. |
