This is a finger-painting. No brushes or tools of any kind were used in the creation of this artwork. This painting is too large to scan in it's entirety, so the first image is a digital photo. The detailed scans below give a more accurate view of the actual colors and textures involved.

(Close ups)
This passionate, active, expressionist landscape is so rich and textural. These scans fail to capture the depth of this piece. It features incredibly vibrant reds and paint that is nearly sculptural. You will want to touch this piece. Romance continues my interest in the subtle inclusion of language in art. There is a single word in each of the four corners. The words are, "Devotion", "Division", "Loss", "Love".
Romantic love is always a tad bitter-sweet. There is that battle between maintaining a separate sense of self and merging fully with another. No matter where I wind up on that spectrum, I am always aware of the extremes that are beyond my reach. My hope is that this piece will be enjoyed by an individual who has made peace with the inconsistencies of love and can treasure the full range of romantic feelings.
