(Up close)
Seeking is a beautiful, carnival-like painting created primarily with palette knives. A small brush was used to add the wonderfully natural lines that contort their way through this image. I am particularly interested in line quality these days. Seeking continues my interest in the subtle inclusion of language in art. It has five words painted across the lower rectangle that read, "We are allowed to explore." Many of my abstracts are suggestive of maps and I take that as an indication I need to go exploring more. It is so easy to get all tangled up in the crazy rules we invent and enforce and to forget that we are actually free. Seeking is sure to brighten any room with a splash of fun Dr. Seuss colors and the suggestion of unknown possibilities.
