As a child, my stuffed animals were a great comfort to me.  As an adult, I still love to look at stuffed animals in the store, but I have no room to keep them in my home.  It occurred to me that paintings of stuffed animals might offer many of us who are kids at heart an opportunity to enjoy plush pets in a new way.  In general, I plan to send the stuffed animal that posed for the painting along with the original work of art.  So that the art collector who purchases a given image can see the raw material from which the painting originated.  But in this case I have to make an exception.  The parent of a girl who lost her favorite stuffed lobster has written me a plea for assistance and I am donating this particular stuffed lobster to that worthy cause.  Because I remember the trauma of losing my favorite plush friend.
