This distinctive, hopeful abstract painting is beautifully textured and has layers and layers of subtle color washes. The colors are deep, rich and earthy in contrast with the bright white bird. It is an inspirational gem that continues my interest in combining the energy of abstract expressionism with the emotional and spiritual power of symbols and words.

Taking Flight was painted on a wooden board created specifically for use by artists.  It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang it flush with the wall.  It would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small, decorative table-top easel.  If you do choose to frame this piece you will want to ask the framer to "float" it so that the sides remain visible.

All acrylic paintings are created with professional grade, high-viscosity acrylic paint on surfaces primed with black acrylic gesso unless otherwise noted.  This painting is offered unframed.
