Two Hearts is a vibrant, dynamic image.  The colors just reach out and grab you!  The symbols are strong ones, so I have used them in a very subtle manor to keep them from overpowering the image.  I kept them small and defined them with gray-on-gray outlines.  This piece is a hopeful image of love as a powerful force that can lift us up if we give in and allow ourselves to believe in that power.  Most of the painting was done with a palette knife and that is why it has such luscious organic shapes and textures.  It almost feels like liquid.  Or maybe lava!

I am hopeful this sharp little piece will bring passion and commitment to your home or office.

How Two Hearts was created.....   Once the black gesso primer dried, I used palette knives to apply many shades of blue and purple and black and red to the panel surface.  I used a small dental tool to remove the paint and textures from the small rectangular "window".  And then I used tiny detail brushes to create the symbolic scene and to add the words.  Finally, I used brushes to paint the edges of this piece black.

Two Hearts was painted on a rigid canvas panel.  The edges have been painted black, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel.   Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.

Love.
