No brushes were used in the creation of this image. A small brush was only used after the painting was done in order to add the words and my signature.

This piece is from a series of abstract expressionist paintings that I have been working on over the last year. I think of them as "The Four Corners Series" because each painting has words in all four corners. There are seven new pieces from this series available now. All past images from this series have sold. At least for the foreseeable future, I do not plan on creating any additional "Four Corners" pieces. Here is a peak at the complete series...

Untamed is such a thrill. The extraordinary colors in this large, high-profile canvas just electrify the room. I have decided that what I like most about this type of painting is that it feels like paint feels. Like the experience of paint. When I am in an art supply store and I walk up to the paint display with 100 different colored tubes, my little artist heart races just a bit. And this painting feels like that. The emotional power of raw color. Plus, this piece has cool textures, too. It is an exciting image that can speak well to audiences of all ages and is sure to add a bit of untamed magic to any room.

Untamed also continues my interest in the subtle inclusion of language in art. There is a single word painted in small letters in each corner and the four words read, "Wild, Friendly, Fierce, Curiosity".
