Whiteout
Completed in 2003
Acrylic on wood
Approximately 7" x 11.25" (Irregular)

Up close
For those of you not from the frozen North, Whiteout describes the blizzard conditions that keep us tucked in our warm beds, unable to go out because of the reduced visibility. It is a magical time when Nature makes us everyone sit still a while. Except for the poor souls who have to plow/shovel the white stuff.
I didn't want you warm weather folks to think this was a piece about Liquid Paper. :)
Whiteout was painted entirely without brushes, except for the little house. The wood was primed with a textured ceiling paint (similar to stucco) which gives it that wonderful blizzardy feel.
