How
many days have you been alive? How many of those specific days
can you remember. It is important to exert your freedom from
time to time. Make unexpected choices. Visit new places.
Forget about your comfort zone. Pull up your roots and take
off! Even if it is just for a day. Or just for an hour.
Make memories worth recalling. The words in this piece read, "Make time for adventures." How Adventures was created... First, I used my fingers to push acrylic modeling paste into lovely irregular ridges that form the horizon line and the outline of the hole in the ground. I also built up the tree shape in this manner. Once that layer dried fully, I painted the sky area pink and red, and the land area in shades of brown. After that underpainting was done, I used brushes and a soft cloth and paper towels to apply several layers of color across the whole piece. I purposely allowed bits and pieces of the underpainting to peak through, especially in the sky. The blue looks especially brilliant with those warmer colors pushing up from underneath.
(The image and textures continue around the staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.) This piece was painted on a 6" x 6" gallery stretched canvas. The image continues around the staple-free sides, so this piece looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel or stand. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.

SPECIAL NOTE: This site is gigantic. And it evolved over the course of ten years and 2,000 paintings. So far as I know, this is the largest single-artist portfolio website on the internet. Very exciting, but I am a technological boob and I maintain this site all by myself. That means there are glitches here and there. Some pages are outdated. Some formatting looks out of whack on different browsers. You get the idea. I apologize if you run into problems. PLEASE email me and tell me about 'em so I can fix them. Thank you! Love to you, Melissa |
