Simple little houses are symbols that appear often in my work.  They represent peace and safety and comfort and maturity.  This particular little house perched bravely on the side of a hill seems to be basking in her solitude.  Who would not love to live in a quiet spot of nature where the clouds blow about you and the stars sing you to sleep?  I am enchanted by this serene image of home and I would love for this painting to bring hope and acceptance to some fellow loner out there.

How At Home in the Sky was created.....   After priming this board with black acrylic gesso, I used palette knives to apply a thick textured expressionist layer of bright colors.  Once that underpainting dried, I used a variety of brushes to paint the peaceful scene and to add the words.

At Home in the Sky was painted on a wooden board created specifically for use by artists. It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang it flush with the wall. The sides of the board have been painted as well so that this piece would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small, decorative table-top easel.  *** This piece also sits nicely on a small plastic display stand.  I will include a display stand for free with your order if you request one at the time of payment.

POSTCARDS

After years of searching, I finally found a commercial printer willing to run small batches of multiple designs at an affordable rate!  These postcards feature vibrant high-resolution reproductions of my work on glossy cardstock.  The backsides are typically blank but may contain a copyright notice.  While these cards may be sent through the postal system, I opted not to have the backsides printed with mailing graphics for two reasons.   I wanted to keep costs down so I could sell these for super-affordable prices.  And most of my customers report using postcards for display purposes, not for mailing.  These are display quality art and would look lovely framed.
