This is my favorite painting in ages.  The alarmist bird makes me happy.  I sleepwalk through life all too often.  I miss things.  Forget to pay attention.  Go through the motions.  I would like for a little raven Angel to sit on my shoulder and holler in my ear every time I start to take my existence for granted.  Wake up!  Caw caw!

How Alarm was created.....   This piece has a little bit of everything going on.  Brush painting, palette-knife painting, finger-painting, blotting with rags, scraping with scrapers, scratching with dental tools, etc., etc.  It is a multi-layered image that I worked on over an extended period of time.  I finished it off with tiny 18/0 detail brushes, creating the wonderful crow and adding the words.

Alarm was painted on a 8" x 8" stretched canvas.  The sides of this piece DO have staples but they are covered by layers of texture and color and they do not show at all.  This painting looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
