MY REACTION:  I love this loose expressive piece.  It makes me happy.

CONTENT:  Annie is a retired racing greyhound.  I thought maybe she would be mad about the years of "forced labor", but she is too busy enjoying her freedom and her status as a celebrated pet.  She has no time for remorse.  I asked her the secret to a happy life and I liked her answer so much that I included it in her portrait.  Annie said, "Enjoy what you have."

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  The underpainting here is knife work.  Most of Annie's portrait is fingerpainting.  And then I used brushes to add the words and key details.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece was created on a rough wood plaque with beveled edges.  Wood grain and saw marks are visible.  This piece already has a saw-toothed hanger attached and the sides are painted. Allowing you to display your new painting unframed if you choose.  Either directly on the wall or sitting on a small display stand.  Or it could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.

Enjoy what you have.
