This painting calms me down.  Reminds me that there are still quiet places in the world.  People who live by the sun and not by their cellphones.  It is a lovely painting with wonderful loose active layers of color.  The outer parts - the city parts - of this piece are busy but not scary.  The colors are fun.  And the inner parts - the country parts - are soft and subtle and simple.

I hope this painting brings a bit of peace and quiet to the home of some city-escapee out there.  Or else I hope it helps someone (like me) who lives in the city to remember their country dreams.

How Breathing Again was created:  The abstract expressionist parts of this piece were painted with palette knives and the detailed parts were painted with tiny 18/0 brushes.

Breathing Again was painted on a rigid canvas panel.  The edges of the panel have also been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel.   It could also be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.

We left the city.
