MY REACTION:  The colors here are exciting.  Almost exotic.  And bare trees always remind me that dormant and dead are two different things.

CONTENT:  I am in love with simple landscapes.  Quiet places.  Uninterrupted by billboards or even fences.  Smooth lines that flow.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  In these newer works, I am trying hard to allow the creative process to evolve openly and without intellectual correction.  I am interested in the evolution of graphite sketch to loose gouache painting to a thin layer of acrylic detailing to that fine finished black ink line.  My hope is that you the viewer might feel the same bewildering sense of connection to the art that I do.  That sense of something lovely evolving from something rough and smeary.  Rather than the hyper-perfect kind of art that looks manufactured, you know?  These new pieces are meant to be more personal.  More human.  Maybe a bit fragile.  Certainly more emotional.  I am trying to deliver these new images straight from my heart to you.  Without allowing my critical brain to squash the flawed spirit of the art.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on acid free cotton rag mat board.  You will want to mat and frame this painting to protect your investment.  It will be shipped in a glassine storage bag or envelope.  Sandwiched between protective cardboard sheets.

Bare trees.

Simple scene.

Nature heals.
