This is a beautiful little piece. Someone once told me that most artists are good at making large things seem smaller and that I am exceptional at making small things seem vast. This painting would be an example of that odd phenomenon. This canvas feels much larger than its very small size. This canvas feels like it is acres and acres across. And it is oh so hopeful. So grand. How Big was created..... This is a traditional brush painting but I do think I may have used palette knives to lay down the initial layer of paint for what is now the land.
(The staple-free sides are painted to match so you can display this painting unframed if you like.) This piece was created on a gallery stretched canvas primed with black acrylic gesso. The image continues around the staple-free sides. This painting may be displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a decorative display easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
