This is a fun piece.  I love the moon.  To me, the moon is mystery.  Like an Angel.  A guide.  The moon lights our dreams.  The moon whispers old old stories.  The moon calls us to rest.

How Big Ole Moon was created.....   After the black acrylic gesso primer dried, I used dray brushes and wet brushes and palette knives and my fingers to apply many many layers of color over the course of several days.  Then I used a tiny detail brush to add the words.

Big Ole Moon was painted on a small round wooden plaque. The sides of the board have been painted and this piece looks great on a small display stand.  Or, if you prefer, I would be happy to add a sawtooth hanger to the back so that you could display this original painting without framing directly on the wall.  Just be sure to request the hanger at the time of payment if you want one.  Also, if you feel this small piece will be handled often, please request a coat of protective varnish at the time of payment.  I would be happy to add a coat at no charge.
