Blessed Night

I am really excited about this painting. It is such a gem. The textures and colors are so deep and rich and satisfying. And that glowing moon is intoxicating! This one was a joy to create. I hope it lights the dreams of some fellow stargazer out there.

How Blessed Night was created..... After the black acrylic gesso primer dried, I applied a texturing product that contains teeny tiny glass beads. It is so cool! And once that layer dried, I used a variety of brushes to layer those gorgeous night sky colors. And I finished the piece using 18/0 spotter brushes to paint those twinkling stars and to complete that big old moon.

Blessed Night was painted on a thin masonite square. The edges have been painted and this piece looks lovely displayed unframed on a small clear plastic stand. I will include one of these stands for free if you request it at the time of payment. Otherwise, it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting. Or it can be shown on a small decorative easel if you prefer.
