I love painting Angels.  They make me feel good.  If this Angel seems a little less "finished" than my other Angels, that is because she is!  I am trying hard not to over-control my pieces these days.  Not to paint all the spontaneity out of them.  I want some of the exuberance of original brush strokes to show through.  So I am still layering color and I am still carefully adding specific details to my paintings.  But I am not painting the entire surface of the canvas in that same careful manner.  I am keeping some of the wildness around!  Isn't that nice.  I think it is about time!

This Angel is especially beautiful to me.  Especially divine.  I think she will be a nice house-blessing for the customer that adopts her.  I think she will bring you peace of mind and joyful surprises.

How Blue Angel was created.....   The sides of this canvas are textured with some really neat imported black texturing gel.  Then I created this piece with traditional brushes.

(The textured sides are painted to match so you can display this painting unframed if you like.)

This piece was created on a stretched canvas primed with black acrylic gesso.  The sides do have staples, but they are completely hidden under acrylic texturing gel and paint.  This painting has finished sides and may be displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a decorative display easel.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
