Blue Mountains was the best piece I had ever done at the time.  It appeared during a period when I was in awe of the incredibly vivid colors in nature and disturbed by the way most folks just walk past incredible reds and blues and greens.  I felt that if I shook things up a bit and swapped out the colors of the land for the colors of the sky, etc., then those hues might get the attention they deserve.  I created many eye-popping landscapes during that time, but this remains a favorite.
