If there is one word that defines me and my work, it would probably be "Flight."  I am all about flying.  In the best and worst senses of that word.  I fly in a good way, an inspired way, when I let go of the meaningless crud of my life and follow my heart and paint and paint.   But I suppose I must accept the flip side of that pretty coin as well, which is that I often take flight when problems arise.  I try to outrun my feelings.  I prefer the sky.

This fun little painting makes me smile.  I like this goofy bird.  She is not sleek or aerodynamic, but she flies just the same.  And I want to cheer her on.

How Born to Fly was created...      This is primarily a traditional brush painting, but I did use a dental tool to scratch in a few lines for emphasis.

(The image and textures continue around the sides so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

This piece was painted on a 3" x 4" stretched canvas.  The sides of this piece DO have visible staples but they are covered by layers of paint and I do not feel they detract from the painting.  This piece looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel or stand.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
