Lately, I have been feeling particularly small and vulnerable.  Like this industrious bug bringing a leaf home to her family.  I feel for this bug.  And I really enjoyed painting this little piece.  The greens are so lush!  The composition is open and clean.  And the little bug is so charming.

The words here read, "Please do not squash me."

I would like for this piece to bring smiles and a splash of healthy color to your home or office.

How Bug was created...  This is purely a brush painting with many many many layers of color.  I used tiny 18/0 spotter brushes to paint the bug, the lines, and the words.

(The image continues around the staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.)

Bug was painted on a gallery-wrapped canvas with .75" staple-free sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.

Please don't squash me.
