This is one of those paintings that I thought I would never finish.  I worked so hard on this one for so long.  But my hard work finally paid off in the end!  This is a gorgeous little painting.  Filled with luminous color and fun details.  I have always been fascinated with the idea of cross-pollination.  The idea that some plants would not exist if bug helpers did not carry their gifts of pollen from one flower to another.  I think people need to connect with each other in a similar way in order to fully realize our potentials.

I would like for this fun sunny Spring image to bring warmth and generosity to your home or office.

How Buzz Buzz was created.....   After the black acrylic gesso dried, I use palette knives to apply a thick layer of red paint around the outer edges of the canvas.  And I used wide soft brushes to paint the surface of the canvas red.  Once that underpainting dried, I layer many many pale washes over the entire piece. And I used a dental tool to "engrave" the surface with the word "Give." I retraced this word each time a new layer of paint was applied.  And finally I completed the painting using tiny 18/0 detail brushes to paint the beautiful flower and her busy bee.  (The little bee has teeny grains of pollen stuck to her little legs!)

Buzz Buzz was painted on a 6" x 12" stretched canvas.  The sides of this piece DO have staples but they are covered by layers of paint and do not detract from the painting.  This painting looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel or stand.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.

Give.
