Acrylic paint on stretched canvas

(Enlarged to show detail. The words in this piece read, "I remember now.")

ABOUT THIS PIECE: This piece is far more satisfying to view in person than these scans can convey. It feels like a dream or a memory. Like some important message conveyed through symbols. With all sorts of interesting details and textures and unexpected bits of color. The birds at the top corners of the "window" area are deliberately wispy and feint. As are the words. Those lovely lines really draw the viewer in to look closer at this unusual canvas. HOW IT WAS MADE: After this canvas was primed with black gesso, I used a palette knife to apply acrylic texturing gel to the sides of the canvas and also apply it to create that central "window" area. After that layer dried, I used knives and brushes to apply many many layers of color. I finished this painting using tiny detail brushes to add the lovely symbolic home and the expressive delicate bird images. DISPLAY OPTIONS: This piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass. Or it would also display nicely sitting on a small decorative easel. Or it could be hung on the wall as is, no framing needed. This image continues around the textured sides. (This canvas does have staples on the sides but they are entirely covered with texture and paint and are no longer visible.)
