This is a great playful little painting. With luscious colors
that feel like fresh fruit. And great organic textures.
And a beautiful vibrant heart. You might see all sorts of
different meanings here and that is fine. There is no one
right message. How Caught was created..... After the black acrylic gesso dried, I used palette knives to create a beautiful abstract expressionist underpainting filled with pretty pinks and oranges and bits of sunny yellow. Then I used a dry brush to skim a bit of red across the top of that layer once it had dried. And to brush on a rich pink around the sides. I used a variety of brushes to build up that "window" area. And I finished the piece using tiny 18/0 spotter brushes to paint that plump ripe heart and the accent lines and the words.
(The image continues around the sides so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo, the scans above and below are more accurate.) This piece was painted on a wooden board created specifically for use by artists. It has a recessed slot in the back allowing you to hang it flush with the wall. The sides of the board have been painted as well so this artwork would look wonderful displayed unframed either directly on the wall or on a small, decorative table-top easel.
