I love this painting.  I did not expect to, but I do.  It feels good to me.  The scarred background and the muted colors feel like a memory of pain and that bird feels like recovery.  Or something like that.  This piece has some lovely expressive painting and some sharp bold lines.  It has a big presence for such a small painting.

How Changed was created:   Oh this was an exciting piece to work on.  I used every sort of tool and method in order to "age" and abrade the surface.  I wanted it to look like chaos softened by time.  And the result is just delicious.  Little bits of color peaking out everywhere.  Richly varied textures.  All wrapped up neatly by those crisp black lines.

Changed was painted on a small square wooden plaque. The beveled sides of the board have been painted and this piece looks great on a small display stand.  Or, if you prefer, I would be happy to add a sawtooth hanger to the back so that you could display this original painting without framing directly on the wall.  Just be sure to request the hanger at the time of payment if you want one.  Also, if you feel this small piece will be handled often, please request a coat of protective varnish at the time of payment.  I would be happy to add a coat at no charge.
