MY REACTION: This is one of my favorite abstracts. The colors here are so lively and layered and warm. CONTENT: Lately I am very concerned with the notion of home and the challenge of creating safe spaces for ourselves in this world. ARTISTIC CONCERNS: Oh, this is all about colors and edges and what lies below and what floats above. The way different applications of paint compliment or challenge previous layers. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: This piece is on a stretched canvas. The fabric was stapled on the back of the stretchers, so the sides are staple free. This painting would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display stand. It is also quite stable sitting on edge.
