Crayola crayon on acid-free mat board

(Enlarged to show details)

I have been drawing and painting lone trees for years.  I think our spirits speak in symbols and allegories and poems.  And my life's story is the story of a lone tree on a hill in the sun.  I am a lucky girl.

I hope this warm lush landscape adds a sunny bit of Nature's magic to your home or office all year round.

How Contentment was created.....   Crayola crayon drawings are very labor intensive and sadly I cannot find the time to work in this media very often anymore.  I regret that because crayons allow for a dreamy kind of color that is unique and offers universal appeal.  Everyone loves crayons!  This drawing was created entirely with crayons, there was no pencil sketching done first.  And the color was layered and layered and layered to reach this luminous state of "stained-glass-like" warmth.  After I finish a few crayon pieces, my hands ache and I have to take time off from artmaking for my cramped muscles to recover.

Contentment was drawn on a white piece of acid-free mat board.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  One affordable way to frame this unique drawing would be to purchase a standard-sized frame at your local home store and then bring the frame and the drawing together to a custom-framer.  Ask the framer to mat the drawing to fit the frame.
