Ooh
this one is fun! It is filled with gorgeous Spring colors and
fabulous natural textures and it has some words that ring especially
true for me. Painted in tiny letters in the lower right corner
of the window are the words, "Our love makes no sense." And
then the question, "Does that matter?" Because love is not supposed to make sense. Love is not logical. Love is crazy no matter how you look at it. This is an exciting unusual piece that I hope will bring warmth and intrigue to your home or office. How Crazy Love was created..... This painting has a little of everything going on. I used fine-artist-grade ceramic stucco on the sides and acrylic modeling past to form the ridges around the central window. I used my fingers and a scraper and a dental tool to rough up the surfaces and to clear textures from the area around the heart. I used wide soft brushes to lay down multiple washes of bright color and then I used tiny detail brushes to paint that ripe heart and to add key highlights and the words.
(The sides have been textured and painted to match. This is a digital photo. The scans above and below are more accurate.) Crazy Love was painted on an 8" x 8" stretched canvas. The sides of this piece DO have staples but they are covered by layers of stucco and paint and they do not detract from the piece at all. This painting looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
