This is a bright, clean, simple drawing with a powerful lasting feeling of hope.  I don't really have much more to say about it.  I would love for this special little image to bring warmth and inspiration to your home or office year round.

How December 25th was created.....   Oil pastels are a bit tricky to work with.  Some colors cover others, some remove the layer below them, and some mix with the colors below.  So it takes lots of experience to learn the ins and outs of layering oil pastel colors.  As I often do, I laid down a VERY bright underpainting and then used a straight-edged razor blade to strip that off, leaving behind colorful stains on the mat board.  Next, I built up layers and layers and layers of color.  Finally, I scratched through to the white underneath in order to create the star.

December 25th was created on an acid-free white mat board.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  One affordable way to frame this unique drawing would be to purchase a standard-sized 11" x 14" frame at your local home store and then bring the frame and the drawing together to a custom-framer.  Ask the framer to mat the drawing to fit the frame.  That would give you a decent sized mat border on all sides and would allow for a lovely presentation of your new drawing.
