(Please note: For some reason, the scan below shows feint diagonal lines that DO NOT appear in the actual painting. Please refer to the detailed scans further down the page for a clearer look at the actual piece. If any of my tech-savvy customers could explain to me how to get rid of these phantom lines, I would be very grateful.)

Too often we allow ourselves to float through our lives as if we are here by accident. While it is true that our lives are affected by many things beyond our control, we DO have the opportunity to CHOOSE how we live in this world. Whether you live with a partner or alone, whether you have children or pets, whether you call your Mother once a week or once a year, PLEASE understand that how you live is up to you! Decide for yourself whether you want to live up high or down low or in the middle or on the edge. This painting is filled with lush color and gentle transitions. And the small houses have bright crisp details. I am hopeful this unusual symbolic modern painting will bring perspective and inspiration to your home or office. How Decide was created..... This is a traditional brush painting. The canvas panel was first primed with black acrylic gesso and then painted with layer of bright warm reds and yellows. Once that underpainting dried, I used wide soft brushes to layer many many shades of green. And I finished with tiny detail brushes, adding the accent lines and the words and the charming little houses. Decide was painted on a rigid canvas panel. The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting. ***NOTE: I can include a new plastic stand with your order at no charge if you request one at the time of payment.
