Buffalo have long been a personal totem.  My Angels often visit me as buffalo.  In many Native American spiritual traditions, buffalo symbolized selfless giving.  They always represent good luck to me.  And floating buffalo are especially good omens.  Large and solid, yet weightless and free.  Everything you could ask for in a spirit guide.

I am hopeful this beautiful little painting brings a bit of playful inspiration to your home or office.

How Discovery was created.....   First, I painted the lines of this piece with black acrylic paint.  Once those dried, I used artist's pens filled with lightfast India ink to "color in" the image.  Next, I used wide soft brushes to layer subtle transparent washes of acrylic paint atop the ink.  I painted the beautiful buffalo with tiny detail brushes.  And I finished the piece by carefully repainting those lovely black lines.

Discovery was painted on acid-free white mat board.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  One affordable way to frame this unique piece would be to purchase a standard-sized frame at your local home store and then bring the frame and the artwork together to a custom-framer.  Ask the framer to mat the art to fit the frame.
