The word reads:  Imagination...

This is a fun, happy little painting.  A light-hearted ode to imagination.  Filled with confetti-like bits of color zinging here and there.  And a sweet little dragonfly.  She represents vision.  Not the kind of vision you have with your eyes, the kind you have with your heart and soul.

How Dragonfly was created.....   After the black acrylic gesso primer dried, I used my fingers to move paint from my palette to the wooden plaque.  I chose the specific colors you see here and I patted my fingers against the wood as though I were playing a drum in order to mix the colors gently and add a bit of texture.  Next, I used a palette knife to clear the colors and textures from that central window.  When everything had dried, I used brushes to add the words and to create the pretty dragonfly.

Dragonfly was painted on a small round wooden plaque. The sides of the board have been painted and this piece looks great on a small display stand.  Or, if you prefer, I would be happy to add a sawtooth hanger to the back so that you could display this original painting without framing directly on the wall.  Just be sure to request the hanger at the time of payment if you want one.  Also, if you feel this small piece will be handled often, please request a coat of protective varnish at the time of payment.  I would be happy to add a coat at no charge.
