MY REACTION:  This is a lovely soft painting that really grows on you.  There are a lot of subtleties here.  A fullness that is very satisfying.  And I love the words here.  Because our hearts really do not care about rationality and matters better left to our busy minds.

CONTENT:  I think societies today are overly focused on science and rational thought to the point of neglecting mystery and dreams and the value of not knowing why.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  These abstract heart pieces are mostly about color and the expressive application of paint and less about conscious content.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  Emotional was painted on a gorgeous panel of Belgian linen bonded with traditional rabbit-skin glue to a 1/4" thick piece of masonite. The linen was primed with top-grade, old school gesso. It is the perfect surface for detailed painting. The texture of linen is so much finer than canvas.

The sides of the panel have been painted black.  This painting can be displayed unframed on a small decorative easel or plastic stand.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.

I don't have to make sense.
