Emotional Life

This gorgeous vibrant treat is filled with exciting hues and textures. There are three words subtly tucked into the upper right corner that read, "Feel. Feel. Feel." Both as a suggestion - you will want to touch this piece! - and also as a reminder to respect your own feelings. Listen to your heart. We live in an overly logical, rational world today. And many of us suffer from a severe lack of emotion, mystery, romance and drama. Our hearts are starving for experiences! Not ideas. I am hopeful this bright splash of color will bring some feeling and perspective to your home or office.

How Emotional Life was created..... After the black acrylic primer dried, I applied an even coat of this incredible new texturing product I discovered. It is imported from Europe and is obscenely expensive, but I could not resist it. It is created specifically for fine artists and it makes colors really pop off the canvas! I cleared most - but not all - of this texturing gel away from inside the heart area. This makes the heart slightly recessed from the surface of the painting. Once the textured layer had fully dried, I used a wide variety of brushes to create this fun expressive image.

Emotional Life was painted on a 6" x 6" stretched canvas. The sides of this piece DO have staples but they are covered by layers of texture and color and they do not show at all. This painting looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel or stand. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
