Evening

You might think after painting for 15 years and completing more than 1,000 images that color would eventually cease to amaze me. But I am as thrilled by gorgeous deep unusual hues today as I was the first time I mixed those colors years and years ago.

I love the colors in this landscape. They sing to me. These colors tell me stories. Poems and fairy tales occur in landscapes like this. These colors work magic. I am sure of it.

How Evening was created..... This is a traditional brush painting with layers of light washes.

Evening was painted on a rigid canvas panel. The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.
