I am a fan of bison in general, but I am particularly enamored of floating buffalo!  Buffalo often appear in Native American spiritual stories as symbols of selfless giving.  They are a sign of quiet power.  And when they fly...  well, that to me is a sign of quiet power coupled with immense faith!

This little painting is far prettier in real life than on your computer.  It features deep rich colors and sweet fine lines.  I created this good-luck image to bring a bit of magic and hope to the home or office of some fellow buffalo-woman or buffalo-man out there.

How Flight was created.....   After the black acrylic gesso dried, I used palette knives to create a bold expressionist underpainting filled with bright yellows and oranges and reds.  One that richly textured layer dried, I used knives and brushes to layer blues and greens and create the peaceful landscape scene.  Finally, I used tiny detail brushes to paint the lines and highlights and words.

Flight was painted on a rigid canvas panel.  The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel.   Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting.  ***NOTE: I can include a new plastic stand with your order at no charge if you request one at the time of payment.
