(The image continues around the deep staple-free sides so you can display your new artwork unframed.  This is a digital photo.  The scans above are more accurate.)

This unusual painting is even more interesting in person than the scans can show.  The colors are really rich and the textures add some nice contrasts, too.

This is an image about editing my life, paring down.  Chaos is inevitable, it is a natural part of life.  But what I choose to pull out from the chaos is up to me.  What I emphasize or de-emphasize.  What I assign value to...  that paints the picture of who I am.  In my case, I continuously come back to the notion of home.  A safe place in the whirling energy of this overloaded world.  My focus in life is quieting my mind and feeding my heart.  And the symbol of a simple quiet home best captures my ideals.  I especially like the contrast in this piece.  An external area filled with textures and active brushstrokes and colors everywhere, contrasted with a clean smooth inner area where the lines are sharp and fine and the scene is simple and quiet.

This piece makes me happy and I am hopeful it will bring a bit of perspective and peace to your home or office.

How Focus was created...  The outer areas were created with bold palette knife applications and broad brush strokes.  Paint was applied over many layers.  I worked on this one for quite a while.  The inner area was painted with fine detail brushes.  And I used a small dental tool to scratch a few lines around the window, also.  To further separate the spaces.

The word SIMPLICITY was painted in very tiny black letters just below to house.

Focus was painted on a professional quality gallery-wrapped canvas with deep 1.5" sides.  This piece would look wonderful displayed unframed directly on the wall.  Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it required no matting or glass.
