Nature is filled with miracles and magic.  The diversity of natural life, the colors and textures, the wild shapes - I am often overwhelmed by nature's creativity.  This beautiful little tree has dressed up for a very special time of year.  To welcome Spring.  She is flowering with white petals and soft smells and she is shining for us all.  Reminding us that this world is a blessing.

I am hopeful that this peaceful landscape will brighten your home with inspirational light all year round.

How Flowering Tree was created.....   Gouache is like watercolor, only it is opaque rather than transparent.  I use this media in much the same manner that I use acrylics.  The difference is that these colors can be blended with water and are capable of much softer, more gradual transitions.  Like the subtle fade in the sky that you see in this piece.  That is a beautiful affect that would be very difficult to capture with regular acrylic paints.  This media is also less forgiving than traditional acrylic paint and requires more forethought and more patience.

Flowering Tree was painted on acid-free heavy weight paper.  You will want to frame this piece to protect your investment.  To frame your new painting affordably, you can pick up a ready-made frame at your local home or discount store and then bring the frame with the painting to a custom-framer.  The framer can mat the painting to fit the frame.  *** Please note:  Water based media like gouache can bleed slightly at the edges.  I do my very best to keep the edges spotless, but there may be some slight staining just outside the picture field.  That is one reason why watercolor and gouache paintings are traditionally matted before framing.  To cover any bleeding along the edges.
