I
am not a joiner. I do not seek out groups or organizations and
when they seek me out, I invariably decline their invitations to
become a member. But I have been thinking lately about the
phrase, "strength in numbers" and it has occurred to me that my
customers and my peers and I are all apart of something together.
We give each other strength to pursue a more positive future.
Even though we are not an official group, we are still an informal
family of sorts. Encouraging each other to dream. This is really an elegant little painting that makes a bigger impression in person than these scans can convey. I am hopeful this piece will brighten your home or office with a bit of natural inspiration and a reminder that you are not alone. How Gathering was created..... This piece began as a finger-painting. I touched my fingertips to various colors on my palette and then patted the canvas (like I was playing a drum). As I lifted my fingertips from the canvas, the paint pulled up into peaks and valleys and that is how the background textures came to be. Before that layer dried, I removed all texture from the area that would become the window and from the stripe where I would eventually paint the words. I layered many many shades of green across the piece. And then I used tiny detail brushes to paint the window scene and the words. Gathering was painted on a rigid canvas panel. The edges of the panel have been painted, so this piece looks lovely displayed just as it is on a small stand or decorative easel. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no glass or matting. ***NOTE: I can include a new plastic stand with your order at no charge if you request one at the time of payment.
