MY REACTION:  I love this piece.  Everything about it makes me happy.  It is the essence of painting to me.  An image of what painting really feels like from this end of the brush.  Wet and wild and brilliantly colored.  Chaos with a message.  Creativity as a drug.  This one has amazing surprises throughout.

CONTENT:  We are all made up of the same primordial soup.  The same legos.  All of us alive today.  All that were alive and have died.  All that are yet to be born.  The same stuff.  The same confusing, unbelievable, unexplainable stuff.  Scientists can explain the cells and junk like that.  I am not talking about cells.  I am talking about the wild stuff.  What happens when we sleep.  Why we need what we need.  Addictions.  Hopes.  That incredible ridiculous all-important power called faith.  I am talking about the chaos that makes up our souls.  The Holy stuff.

ARTISTIC CONCERNS:  This is a knife and brush painting with noticeable textures except where I cleared the "windows".

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:  This piece is on a gallery stretched canvas with staple-free sides.  God's Glorious Mess would display nicely unframed either directly on the wall or on a small display easel.  If you prefer a frame, this piece could be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.

All that ever will be.
