Mmmm... I always love this scene. I have painted
many rolling hills and many winding paths and many lone trees over
the years. These paintings always cheer my spirits and calm my
heart. And each time I create one of these pieces - each time
I attempt to capture the serenity I find in wideopen nature - the
process of painting feels a little bit looser, a little more
inspired. I feel my skills as a painter growing and my vision
of "perfection" becoming clearer. I hope this warm little gem brings a sunny bit of natural healing to your home or office. How Glimpse of Heaven was created... The sides and edges of this pretty painting were textured with teeny tiny glass beads suspended in a clear acrylic medium. The result is a very satisfying organic type of texture. After that layer dried, I used palette knives to create a vibrant abstract piece. Then I used a variety of brushes to paint that glowing landscape. I also used dental tools to "engrave" some accent lines into the surface.
(The image and textures continue around the sides so you can display your new artwork unframed. This is a digital photo, the scans above are more accurate.) This piece was painted on a 3" x 4" stretched canvas. The sides of this piece DO have staples but they are covered by layers of texture and color and do not detract from the painting. This piece looks lovely displayed as it is without framing either directly on the wall or on a small decorative easel or stand. Or it can be easily and affordably framed as it requires no matting or glass.
